El Salvador

So, this may all be a bit premature, BUT...Andrew and I may be doing an internship in El Salvador with the program HELP International. It's called Hogar del Nino and it's an orphanage for people anywhere between ages 2-50's who have mental and physical disabilities. We would be their activity planners:) haha! Basically, we'd plan activities for them to do that would help them physically (like with any physical disabilities) emotionally, and mentally. We'd live close to the school and just play with them for three months (but in a more structured, planned sort of way).

Does that not sound AWESOME!?!?!? So, we are planning to apply for it in a few weeks here. Hopefuly it'll end up working out for us to go from mid-May to mid-August (3 months). And I will tell you what, I am excited beyond excited. It sounds like something I've been craving for the last 6 months of my life. I've been dying to go back down to South America, and even though El Salvador isn't in SOUTH America, it's close enough and they speak Spanish. PLus, I can't go back to Chile without Brillante. It wouldn't be right.

So...yeah. Andrew heard about it in his therapeutic recreation class (that's his major) so it would count as an internship for him and it would count as awesome experience and Spanish learning for me. I REALLY hope to go. Obviously we JUST found out about this program yesterday...so like I mentioned earlier, maybe this is all a little premature. But I'm just so excited and since Brillante (who would be the most excited with me) isn't around to celebrate, I figured I'd share the news with everyone to be excited with me:) Haha! And Andrew already knows, so it's a constant celebration together already.

Oh Chile!!! How I miss you so...can't wait to visit again. Until then, I'll visit El Salvador:) (hopefully, that is!)

Thanks Molly... I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you (need to learn learn learn) so I don't know how on earth I could help you! You're doing just fine and soon you'll be a photo major who will have to help ME! :)

My blog got that way after hours, no, DAYS of messing around with html. (I had off school for President's Day and got nothing accomplished other than the blog I think!!) I have no idea what any of it means, but somehow I figured out how to make some changes that worked. I don't remember any of it, so it looks like I'll never be able to change my blog! Or I'll have to wait for summer to come so I have more time off!

I like new colors on yours though - very fun! And the trip to El Salvador sounds AMAZING. It's exactly what I've been craving too. I'd love to go, but my darn job interferes... again! Live it up for me!

That is exciting! And I was about to reply that that sounds like what I majored in, until I got to the part where you said Therapeutic Recreation is Andrew's major. That was my major as well. It sounds like it would be a great opportunity for the both of you. Good luck!

Seriously! That's totally like us. We're going to be living in Fairfax, VA- very exotic. We'll for sure have to exchange pictures and stories about all of the crazy people, things, and landscapes we see. I've never attempted to speak Virginian, but I've got a real knack for languages, so I'm not worried.

Ok, seriously, do you always have to one up me? I mean, couldn't I have the attention just once because I get to live in D.C. (kind of)?

Ok, seriously, seriously. That's so sweet. I think you should definitely do it! It's like a 12 week most-expense paid honeymoon. Who can beat that? You are SO there.
